How to Import Data

You are here:

You can import data from a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file.

  • • The first line of the file has to include a header (name of each column). Header defines properties and attributes of your entities and varies depending on the entity you are importing (see Header lines by entity type below).
  • • Every other line defines one entity.
  • • Each cell in the line defines a property.
  • • Use the semi-colon ( ; ) as the delimiter.
  • • Empty cells are ignored. Number of cells in the line should match number of columns.
  • NOTE: Make sure every line is formatted correctly. Otherwise, data won’t be imported.

Import entity

1. Click Import in the Administration section to open the Import page.

2. Click the Select entity to import field to select an entity type from the dropdown menu.

3. Click Next.

4. Click the Choose file button.

  • • File Explorer window opens.

5. Select a CSV file from which you want to import the data.

  • • As soon as you select a file you will get a message informing you about the successful data import.
  • NOTE: In case the import is unsuccessful, please inspect your CSV file and make sure it is formatted correctly. If the issue persists, please contact your IT department or Tagit support service.
